First, the Resort is beautiful. Decor is classy and everything is clean, from the lobby to the guest rooms. The staff at the resort is extremely helpful and friendly. The guest room is very nice. It should be noted that as of this posting, the Resort is not linked to the magic bands for entry into your room. I will definitely consider staying at this resort again on future Disney vacations.
This hotel was quite nice. The lobby is large and clean, and the rooms were recently renovated, so they were very nice inside. The doors were difficult to close and open for some reason, but that's a small complaint. Getting to and from Disney world was easy, and busses come every 20 minutes. Getting on can be a bit hectic, as there is no organized line, and people just push on, and I'd imagine when the park is busy it would be quite annoying to get a bus. I would recommend this hotel.
Very dated. Wait staff and room service staff was rude. Staff entered room two days early stating they thought we was checking out. I made sure to lock up everything just in case he was coming to steal. None of the hot tubs worked (2 tubs jets was broken and 1 was like bath water for a toddler). The food was overpriced. Plus not a Disney property. Its owned by Marriott. Disney needs to take their name off this property. Giving them a bad reputation.
Checking in at 4:30 pm took almost 45 minutes. That's far longer than every other Disney resort we've stayed at. That being said everything was booked so obviously it was high volume. I will mention the line was entirely full of convention attendees. Having a 3 year old is not fun in a line like that. Room was nice. Stayed a few years ago and had a better experience because we had a king bed. This time was doubles which shouldn't be an option for this hotel. Staff was very friendly. Amenities will bring us back soon. Overall a great experience.
I stayed at the Dolphin resort as I was attending a conference. With that being said, although it is a Disney-labeled hotel, the look and feel were not as Disney themed like other Disney properties. If you have kids, that's something to keep it mind, however, they do have character dining on the property. The lobby was great as it had 2 large TVs playing professional sports with a bar and plenty of seating. The conference halls were very well managed. The catered food was actually pretty good as well. The rooms seem a little dated and small, especially if you bring your family but other than that, they are your standard hotel rooms. The staff was great and catered to your needs and the restaurant options were surprisingly vast. You can walk to the Boardwalk as well. And here's my Ironing Set Review (for business travelers). The Ironing Board (9 out of 10): Large board, good fabric, allowed for smooth ironing. The Iron (9 out of 10): One of the best irons I've used in a hotel. It was clean (no hard water stains), steam functionality was superb, and heated up super quick. Along with the board, it was one of the best sets I've got to use.
