Loved my experience at the Shades of Green Resort. The food is delicious, staff was so friendly, and rooms and very spacious and clean compared to other resorts. I would like to see some shuttle schedule changes. Waiting for a shuttle for an hour at animal kingdom with a small child isn't fun. But the experience overall is still magical.

Terrible! The quality of this hotel has gone from great to horrendous. The older wing is basically falling apart. In our room here is the list of issues; the furniture is falling apart and looks it, the fan in the room is falling apart (the chain for it fell apart in my wife’s hand) the AC constantly cycles on and off, finding a plug takes an act of god. In the bathroom, the door handle is falling off, the bathroom fan clicks loudly whenever the light is one, which means plan on going the bathroom in the dark or waking everyone in the room up. The ceiling looks like something from a 1950’s army dorm, ceiling tiles set uneven and in terrible shape, the bathroom shower has mold in it, the tub spout spins.

We stayed at a universal resort last week for about $30 more a night, but the resort was a lot nicer and a lot better maintained. We stayed as a holiday inn over thanksgiving weekend for $30 less and it was in far better condition and much better maintained. Shades of green has the feeling of a motel 6, not a resort that is located on Disney grounds.

If you can stay at Shades of Green, the slight compromise of convenience is worth the savings. You simply cannot get a Disney hotel at the prices of this resort. The rooms are nice, modern and clean. The setting is beautiful. The shuttles are not as convenient as regular Disney shuttles but they are still pretty good. All in all a great value.

My wife and I met some guests for dinner. We had 3 young children between us. We ate at the buffet and walked the grounds afterwards. It was comfort food night, with a turkey carving station, fried chicken, stuffing, etc. The food was great, and the service friendly and attentive. The grounds were relaxing and well kept. It was getting late and the kids were getting tired but having a place for them to run around was nice.

We were visiting to see if this would be a great place to stay on our next trip to Disney World. After exploring the grounds and facilities we really liked what we saw. The staff even gave us a ride back to the Polynesian resort. It was peaceful, relaxing and a pleasure to visit.

The only thing shades of green has going for it is the location and how close it is to the transportation center.
